How do I find out military information on an uncle that was killed in Japan (Army) during WWII ?
His name was William Larkin Kivett, Jr and he was born in June 12, 1928 (Randolph County, N.C.) He was killed in a vehicle accident in Japan on Oct. 20, 1946. I would also like to talk to someone who knew him and he was dating a girl named Patricia ( I do not know last name–maiden or married name) and I am named after her so I would like to find out information about her also. He was a Private First Class in the regular Army—14 127 094. Thank you for any help you can give me.
You can contact your local Veterans Services Office and complete a form to get a copy of your uncle’s military records. (Standard Form 180). I live in North Carolina, so I know where Randolph County is. Just click on my name “calebsmom” and send me an email and I will send you come info on how to get a copy of those records. I work for the State of North Carolina and my job is to help veterans gets benefits from the VA and such.
